hey, i need help with my ps3 cam..
so i removed the ir-filter 2 days ago, tested the cam with my system and recognized that the cam isnt focusing right..
how can this problem be solved?
Wellit sorta works. Amcap records but the video is too fast and the audio doesn’t fit with it. This also happenes with Windows Movie Maker, but i’ll have to have more tests with it. It works perfectly fine with InstantDvdRecorder but records in Mpeg/vob which is not that great. Could someone suggest a good program i can use to record video, if not audio on its own.(Like for voice overs)
And it doesn’t work with Pinnacle Studio.
Hey. I bought the camera only because of the mic and now I cant get it to work on vista ultimate 64bit. I tried it on my laptop that has windows xp and the mic worked with no problems. My vista comp sees the camera as a mic but it just doesnt work. I tried it with ur drivers but that only got me picture from the camera(worked great but I just want the mic lol) so it didnt help. Is it a vista problem? Thanks in advance!
I recently formatted my Window XP.
I downloaded and re install the newest driver. Right now only the TextApp works, AmCap is telling something like “there’s no capture device found”
am I missing something? possible some windowupdates.
After installing latest build (in Vista32) from the blog it i couldn’t start msn, it crashed all the time but uninstallting all live apps and installing them again solved the problem.
Seems as if there is a an issue with the buit in mic, if i activate the mic under recording devbices msn freezes, but aslong as i use a different mic it’s all fine.
I’m building a Multitouch system and just bought a Ps3Eye.
Installed the alex driver (v2.0b81231) .. tested with testapp and apcam at 640x480 30 fps and all is working fine ..
Tested in Reactivision, everithing ok .. but after some minutes the ps3eye get disconnected (reactivision tell me that the cam is disconnected). if i close reactivison and reopen it it works but only for few minutes. after looking the cam whn it is disconnected i saw that the Red Led on the cam is off..
I’ve tested again the cam in Alex testapp and it is the same.. after few minutes the capture is black ..
Did someone already got this kind of prob .. or my Ps3eye is defect??

No, your CPU is not powerful enought, try lower FPS settings

HEy whats up Alex just wondering how can i make ps3 eye work on 75 fps in touchlib?
BTW Tebeta don’t support this wound love if you guys add support for this came in Tebeta next release

When I go to the device manager, the camera is listed under “Unknown Devices.” I double click it, tell it to search my AlexP folder on My Computer, and it says it finds the driver, but fails to install it. Images are added to describe my problem.
Hi Alex, I am having the same exact problem as this person running Vista Ultimate. The pics are the same as mine and I too have done this under Administrator with no luck. I’m sure you answer a lot of questions for people but this one was never resolved. I’ve must have installed and uninstalled numerous times.
When I get to installing the everything seems to work fine. Then I plug in the camera and vista tries to automatically install the camera. I follow the install with a manual install of your driver. I just tell it to use the entire driver file; i hope that is right. I get ‘error installing driver’. The camera never gets recognized either, i guess it wouldn’t without the driver. Can’t test or anything, obviously. Can you help?

Hey gr689,
The camera consists of two components. One (audio) should automatically install by your OS (Vista). The other one is the camera that uses my driver.
Are you running Vista x32 or x64? The driver works with both versions of the OS. Also please get the latest version: v2.1.0.0130 here.
From the picture you posted it seems that you didn’t allow for the driver to be installed. Remember, you must be logged in as an administrator in order to install the driver in the Vista OS. When the Vista pops up a dialog box asking you to install the driver, you should allow it to proceed. After successful installation of the driver you can be logged in as a normal user again.
I am currently working on multi-camera version of PS3Eye driver and am in the process of testing my new driver. I have some great news. I’ll keep you posted.
Hi alex, thanks for the reply. I’m sorry but I have done all of this with administrator rights.when I download I of course Allow it to install but it does not. There is a bigger problem here. I would like to build a multi touch table with this camera but I really need to get over this step.
