Hi All, a few weeks ago I submitted a free TUIO app for the App Store (I actually wrote it mostly in C++ using openFrameworks 006 and ofxiPhone with intentions on making it opensource when OF006 was officially released - original thread at http://nuigroup.com/forums/viewthread/4556/). I really think it will be helpful to NUI Group and still hope I can share it will you all.
First Apple did not understand how to use it so I sent them example clients, and today they came back with a rejection. Apple’s response to this app is:
We’ve reviewed your application, MSA Remote, and we have determined that this application contains minimal user functionality and will not be appropriate for the App Store.
We are now trying to collect as many comments as possible to show Apple that this is not as niche a market as they seem to think.
So if you could please show your support by either posting here or at the links below I would greatly appreciate it.
C’mon guys let’s make some noise… this is a real problem when you have amazing artist trying to release applications that would benefit our community we have to give them our support!
This app would open up the iPhone so much in its potential and usability in so many markets including music, art, tech and many more. I own an iPhone and have already looked for something like this app and was unable to find it. Rejecting applications that actually are useful and can really advance what people are doing with Apple’s god’s-gift-to-man phone just seems contradictory when every user already has to sift through the terrible rating system and poor quality that has already taken over the Apple App Store. It is apps like this one that may make some of us even launch the App store once in awhile, instead of better non-Apple supported ones.
you have my vote an my comment on your Blog. Let me please say also on this place that i appreciate very much your work you are doing (which i know quite well, since i am doing the last few months a lot with QC). How’s about a port of your Fluid solver for QC BTW.?
In the video, you can see one of the most loved “user functionality”: the remote control! What if some one develops a home cinema multitouch remote control? C’mon Apple guys, we also want to make some multitouch....
