After some stop & go I’m finally able to announce my first working DSI LCD table.
Of coures it couldn’t be done without the guides and support provided by this forum. For this reason I’m sharing below some of it’s details:

Materials

- EndLighten clear 0N002 XL (8mm) - ordered via plexiglas-shop + IR LED ribbon 850nm - ordered via xled.it
- Acer X223HQ (no FCC or other issues)
- clear plexiglass to hold the LCD
- PS3eye with filter - by PeauProduction
- backlight for LCD: Acer original one

CPU: Apple newest Mac Mini 2.0Ghz

As a table frame/encloser I decided to use an ikea base sink cabinet (IKEA product page) with added wheels; the reason for that is that I’m not very good in making cabinets and I wanted something cheap and ready to use for my first implementation.

Below some pictures of my prototype. I know, it is not very fancy, yet, but It is working fine and many of the CCV demo apps are running well.
Now I need to build a nice frame to shade the non interesting parts and maybe paint the side walls.

Any comments on my work are welcome!

Nice work man.  Can you post some links/pics of where you got the LCD cable extender cables (I’m assuming that’s what you did based on your pictures).  I know some people have looked around for those and had a hard time finding them.

@all: thanks for the support.

@PeauProductions: video (data) cables are the original ones… I just un-bent them and un-taped. As for the power cables I did the extension myself, but it is not really complex: you have just remember to connect wires to the same colors wink

@Vahid: I didn’t try with fiducials - yet. As per ambient light I’m not experimenting particular issues… What is exactly you problem with this?
In my case backlight is a bit far from the lcd matrix, but enought to light it. I’m thinking to put some alluminum foil on the internal walls to make more uniform the light source.

Video will be posted soon together with additional details (I’m currently away from my desk/table)

just looking to the image i found your backlight is thick like mine. i guess it useses endlighten acrylic for light reflection is it heavy?
mine had a nicely polished endlighten . now i have no backlight confused

Hei blackdir,

nice work man wink

I can assume that you’ve placed the surface materials in this order: Endlighten lcd Plexiglass. Am i right?

doesn’t the endlighten scratches easily when you touch it directly? I remember someone writing that here on the forum (Peau, was that you? ).

Yes you are right. That is the exact order

I also read the comments on enlighten being easy to scratch.
So far I haven’t experienced that. I didn’t put a plexiglass on top because I was worried to limit IR reflection.

Now I’m planning to give it a try also to verify if it makes easier for finger to move on the surface…
